During Teej festival women fast for longevity and well-being of husband and children and pay a visit to the temple at Pashupatinath, one of the most famous Shiva temples of the Indian sub-continent.
Teej (or Haritalika Teej) takes place in third day of Shukla Paksha in Shraavana month of Hindu calendar (August or September).
