Sleeping Vishnu or Narayan in Budhanilkantha
Image of the sleeping Narayan (Lord Vishnu) in Budhanilkantha.
This 5 meter-long image of Narayan is more than thousand years old and probably the most important Vishnu shrine in Nepal.
Every year thousands of Hindu pilgrims come to celebrate Haribodhini Ekadashi festival on the last day of Chaturmasya (late October/beginning of November), when Lord Vishna is believed to wake up from his four month lasting sleep.
